I tried out the 'new look' of Gmail, which everyone is supposed to get, whether they like it or not.

What is with this new trend towards pictograms instead of nice short words?  They've replaced the 'reply' word with a button with a back arrow on it.  The expand conversation is now an ellipses.  The boxes around messages are gone so threading is practically unreadable (but you do get a pictogram of who you're talking to, gee, wow).  The whole thing looks just like Buzz, which, uh, they said failed and they were getting rid of.  But worst of all, they have screwed up the search function.  HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE but they did.

And I HATE that they've locked the labels (which I use) so that chat is forced to remain high up top.

But they have made the damn emails literally unreadable by making the theme picture SHOW THROUGH THE DAMN TEXT YES I"M SHOUTING AND YES I HAVE FEELINGS ABOUT THIS.  WHAT AN ADA NIGHTMARE.  I have bad eyes, but at least I can make out black text on a white background, so long as there's a box, but oopsie we wouldn't want to know which person is talking unless we use our little talking pictograms so let's get rid of the pesky boxes and make people use the pictures.  I mean, Outlook does a better job here.  OUTLOOK, Google.

Uh.  I may have feelings on this.
....so I hear hotmail's good?

Yes to this. >.>

Part of the breaking search is that they have decided to reserve "+" for use as google+ profile indicators ONLY, so you cannot search using +wordIRLYWANT, you have to use "wordIRLYWANT" instead.

I keep clicking the X on "switch to new view?" as I DO NOT WANT change in my inbox. If this keeps up, I may have to go Thunderbird and download. >.> Damnit. That's regressing, tech-wise!
