I think I may be the only person on the planet who disliked Komarr, A Civil Campaign, and still hasn't read Cryoburn.  I adore Ivan, but I don't think I'll get that book.  Oh, there was another book or two in there, wasn't there--forgot what they were. 

I feel horrible saying all of that.  For years Bujold was a favorite.  Now I feel traitorous and guilty. 

Sigh.

Yeah--I don't think I'll bother with it, unless it's do research so I can write my own headcanon version. (Which would mean Ivan has to quit being unmemorable as safety and save the day in spite of himself...)

I sort of lost interest in the stuff after Memory.

I also grew bored of the Vlad Taltos books and wandered away from Steven Brust, which is probably a traitorous thing to say too. You are not alone!

Yes, I used to love the Taltos books and waited eagerly for each one, and now I can't even remember when I stopped reading them. There was one with a very odd drummer? Maybe? Heh.

I thought Komarr was okay, loved A Civil Campaign despite myself, and hated Diplomatic Immunity, partly for all the ways it failed to deal with the problems with ACC. I haven't read the two books since. I'm a little enthusiastic about the Ivan book, though, mainly because I have been getting the feeling that Bujold is just tired of Miles and I don't think she'd bother with an Ivan book if she weren't interested.

I also haven't read most of the fantasies. Whoops.

It is so odd how you feel guilty about old favorites falling out of your favor, isn't it.

Yeah, I just feel so disloyal. It's silly, but so true.

I may reread ACC just to see if I would still hate it now. Hmmm. Or maybe I'll reread Cetaganda instead. (I loved that one...)

I'd be surprised if you liked it now. I liked reading it at the time, but it hasn't worn well at all.
