vom_marloweI do not normally post to dreamwidth. And I have made a promise to myself to stay out of heated arguments for the most part, right now.
However.
I read a report that said that someone I knew, someone who I have seen commenting in communities and shared spaces and freinds' journals, has raped someone. The accused rapist is kynn (on livejournal) / keeva on dreamwidth. Full disclosure: I am not friends with kynn and never have been.
The report that I read was written by someone who shared a room with kynn and the victim (Jack) at Wiscon. She witnessed it.
This report rang true to me. For various reasons. I had not planned to speak about this at all, because I assumed the entire rest of the fucking internet would be talking about it. But they don't seem to be. And I've seen some ugly comments saying that the victim ought to be at the police instead of talking about it to their online community--a trans man, out of state, who was raped by a poly BDSM partner, should have gone to the cops. What the ever loving fucking fuck--like that was going to work?!?
Fucking goddammit people.
I've seen dogpiles when someone has the temerity to use the word lame in comments. But somebody rapes someone and all they get is a lot of locked mutterings? Jesus fucking Christ. NO.
Look, kynn scares me too, OK? Kynn brings the drama-lama. But jeez, doesn't that say something to you?
Hey. The reports are out there. Read them for yourselves and make up your own mind. But if you continue to hang out with kynn and then go on to give people shit about using words, I'm gonna be judging you. Hard.
